Dan Fabulich <daniel.fabulich@yale.edu> on December 20, 1999 w\rote
some interesting stuff and I did not respond. Relatives were in town and I
had to show them around. Hope you understand.
>Heat isn't *just* correlated with bouncing molecules, heat IS bouncing molecules.
But the sensation of heat is not bouncing molecules.
>Similarly, I could go on and say that consciousness IS intelligence
That is not my position. Intelligence is not consciousness, consciousness is
the sensation of intelligence. Your next question would probably be what
are the ingredients of sensation? I can't tell you because I think it's atomic,
it has no parts, so I can't tell you what it's "like".
> Why do you choose to associate end of Consciousness with death?
Choose? I don't understand the word, I looked it up in the dictionary
but it became painfully obvious that the lexicographer understood
the word even less than I did.
>Why not get rid of Consciousness
Why don't I jump to the moon? Because I am incapable of doing so.
>On this topic, what would you mean by saying that consciousness is
>"not an idea?"
Consciousness is a sensation. Sensation is the building block of perception,
perception is the building block of an idea.
