There's a GREAT article in the NYTimes today on life extension technology,
"Who Wants to Live Forever?" Yeah, I know, the title sounds like the
author is asking it as if nobody does, but it's quite the reverse; this
article writes as if the question at hand is "Who wants to win a million
dollars?" :)
The article is primarily interested in questions of DISTRIBUTION of life
extension technologies and the potential for inequality, but begins at the
outset by declaring that "...providing long and healthy lives is a
laudable goal." He's concerned about where we set our priorities, and
whether life extension will reach the poor as quickly as it will reach the
rich.
Nonetheless, this is very much a "can-do" article, and good press for life
extension generally.

But it will only work today, Monday, December 20th, and you need to
register (for free) to read the NYTimes online.
