If a "war on progress" ensues similar to the war on drugs, progress will
continue, and be even more profitable. The problem is, like you said, is
lack of oversight. You will be buying gene therapy longevity treatments
having no idea that they will work. Furthermore, anyone doing research will
risk imprisonment.
