structure of the Universe is not determined by what we want to believe.
Why would there be safeguards - *any* safeguards - unless someone put
them there? I'm not sure even a protective God could pull it off; the
kind of ontology you're talking about strikes me as the sort of thing
that would be a theorem of the logic of the Universe long before God
could be proven into existence...
