Lee, this is a gooood question. I will confess here, I still read
"children's literature" on occasion. The Newbery award series
is terrific. Some of these books I read as a child. This gave me
the idea that they might have been some of my most important
influences. This and the sci-fi: Danny Dunn, Encyclopedia
Brown to name two of the more memorable examples. There
are some excellent stories among the Newbery winners. I
can name most of the characters in "A Wrinkle in Time" after
27 years. spike
