thanks for the site eliezer. the university of mannheim claims
to be the worlds benchmark center for supercomputers. it
evidently has some means of fairly comparing the performance
of both scalar and vector machines. i want to see how they
rate the star bridge system.
this is of special interest to me as i am part of a distrbuted
computing project called gimps, the great internet mersenne
prime search. with over 6000 active accounts, this project
is sustaining a thruput of over 400 gigflops, the equivalent
of 13 cray supercomputers. it is really cool. {8-] spike
