This doesn't seem likely to me. Can you say why you think it's a political
difference. My impression is that Gould is a "lefty", and that Dawkins is a
typical British academic lefty. Perhaps Gould is more of a socialist than
Dawkins, but I've never seen Dawkins sing the praises of free markets. Do
you have more information on their political views? (I'm much more familiar
with Dawkins that with Gould, so I may be off-base on the latter's views.)
