I'm happy to announce that my AvonEOS science fiction novel, The White
Abacus, a book with certain posthuman characteristics, has tonight won the
Aurealis (jury) Award for Best SF Novel of 1997. No, I know you've never
heard of the Aurealis - it's an Aussie prize for Aussie books. But I
managed to beat Greg Egan's Diaspora (which of course ought to have won),
so I'm feeling both pleased and guilty...
