You need to be a bit cautious when reading the
"free energy" newsgroups. Many posters on those groups
tend to let their urgent desire for free energy overwhelm
their objectivity, to say the least. They also tend to
grab a concept from theoretical physics and warp it
beyond all recognition. You did well to use "may" your
questions above. Yes, some recent theoretical models
use the concept of "vacuum energy" or "zero-point energy."
I confess I don't know enough about the theory to comment on
practical applications, but as I recall, the energy is analogous
to perfectly isothermal heat energy and is thus unusable.
Perhaps another list member can point both of us to a
good reference?
