Oversimplification here. In a properly managed experience, looking at
the issues which create the lack of love, etc, is one of the goals, and
within this context personal growth can happen. The intent of the
experience, part of the "set" is very important. Sadly, this doesn't
happen much, till the participants come to desire positive personal
change.

Many would disagree with this, even some Extropians.
