Yes, but their continued existence is causally dependent on properties
of Homo sap. nervous systems in a way that the existence of the
Virgo Cluster is not, at least under the metaphysics I'm entertaining
at the moment. Mind you, I'm talking about Church and State, and
*not* about the members of the Church and the employees of the
State, which are quite real subsets of Homo sap. delineated from
the other Homo saps by these curious evanescent capitalized things.
