PRESENT TECH: Continuous Speech Recognition Products

The big three are:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking (shipping now)
IBM ViaVoice (in NDA beta)
DigitalDictate (apparently a VAR for IBM products;
they're supposedly ahead of the pack on providing
deferred-recognition products at present).

They're all pretty easy to find. I also just found

www.voicerecognition.com

but haven't evaluated them yet.

I've got more info on sound card choices and noise
control (evidently noise contributes to increasing
the size of the "search beam", whatever that is--I
assume that means "makes feature extraction harder"),
if anyone wants it.
