One of the points at issue was the thirteen stars in the logo, and
none of the disgruntled people in this case believed Procter and
Gamble's official explanation that when the logo was originally
designed, the thirteen stars were put in there as a patriotic
gesture symbolizing the thirteen founding states of the United
States.
