After my work for a year on Automated Collaborative Filtering (ACF)
at Firefly, Inc., I wrote an essay on theory of ACF technology, its
potential social consequences and technological successors. You can

There is also a number of references there to various relevant sources.
I do not think we should concentrate on PICS itself, but rather on
the field in general, if we really want to identify technological
promises and threats.
