Concerning using primates for slaves, see big problems:

a) primates are very, very costly
b) primates are dangerous
c) primates are notoriously unreliable

A really cheap AI of a cockroach, or a bee equivalent is already extremely
Singularity-boosting, since being a breakthrough for navigation and
autonomous agents/robotics. Sad thing we apparently require molecular
circuitry for these. Even terminal WSI does not seem to suffice (not
cheap).
