I'm not sure I'd agree with you on that. Perhaps that's the way that the
followers interpret things, but from my experience of Eastern mystics the
ego they're complaining about is the collection of ideas, plans and
misconceptions which seperate a human from external reality. Eliminating
that ego to 'become one with the universe' seems like a good idea to me.
