It's even simpler than that: "it's" is two words, "it is". I find that
people who speak english as a second language use this crutch more
often,
i.e. is it "hers" or "her's"? (It's probably not 'hers', though. :))
Here's another one: should one close parenteses after a smiley, like in
the previous sentence? (No, I won't use brackets or curly braces
instead, so beat me on the head with an apostrophe.)
