Excerpted from the Weird Science mail list:

They say that after years of space exploration, Earth is now the
pround owner of a ring of astronaut sewage in orbit. People have
even raised the possibilities that organisms from Earth may be living
in these rings. Hey, there are species of bacteria that can live in the
coolant water of nuclear reactors! Well this
gives rise to MIT's Norton Rings Fishing Club. And they plan to get
a GAS (Get-Away Special) experiment canister aboared an upcoming
shuttle mission to "fish" for "extraterrestrial" organisms!
Now that's weird science.
