Lyle, I'm not following this thread closely. I can't comment on Shermer's
epistemology in detail since I am not familiar with it. I did read the post
of yours that this is a response to. You make a good case--given what little
I've read here--against Shermer's methodology.
The fact that I think Skeptic magazine is pretty good to have around has
little to do with what I think of Michael Shermer's personal epistemology.
As skeptic magazines go, Skeptic is the best I have seen, certainly
preferable to Skeptical Inquirer. Skepticism is clearly relevant to
Extropianism. But Michael Shermer's epistemology is not.
I will not comment on the holocaust debate, since I know close to nothing
about it.
