Of course conspiracies are stronger than the truth! That is why
the State in all its facets and glory exists!
As a HVAC contractor for many years, I know that contractors plot
constantly when they get together about how they can "strengthen"
licensing enforcement so as to reduce competition.
In public they automatically switch to "licensing helps the
public"! This is a conspiracy by my definition even though most of the
participants wouldn't define it as such. They are so intimately involved
with the realities of their industry that they engage in the conspiracy
like automata, as second nature.
