You must have misunderstood me, John. I don't care if I'm a copy or not. I
don't even like that word.
I would consider my other branches to be something like my real-life
brothers
(of which I have three): none of us are the same, but all of us share some
very important things in common. My real-life brothers and I even share many
common memories, much like my hypothetical forks would, though these common
memories are of course from slightly different vantage points.
One might even say we "identify" with each other. But none of us would argue
that we should consider ourselves as sharing the same personal identity.
