In the 20's Lenin forced people to abandon their private farms and go to
huge monumentally inefficient collective farms, the result was millions of
deaths by starvation. In the 30's Stalin tried the same thing again and even
more died. In the 50's Mao did the exact same stupid thing in China and at
least 30 million ended up dead, more than 4 times as many people as in the
Holocaust. This was not genocide although the people were just as dead, they
did not die in war and they did not die because of nationalism, they died
because they were forced to follow an economic system that did not work.
