Now this is a good idea; the classic low tech solution to a high tech
threat. How about a community organistion that put together a pool of
rental, pre-pay phones which you could check in and out, where the link
between phone and user were never recorded?
Better, disposable phones where the user need never identify him/herself. I
hear that this might be about to exist here, maybe it already does in the
US? I don't know about the no-identification bit, but that's what I'd opt
for.
(I just read cryptonomicon for the first time; can't shake the paranoia
about communicating in the clear!)
