"Naive" is not a word I would ever apply to Dr. Sowell. I think the
article above all reveals a man that has worked in a field, has been blocked
by common prejudices from working as much as he would like, and has never the
less gained some insight.

I think Dr. Sowell demonstrated in his writing that he understands
that sort of stuff goes on. Note the story about the psychologist that got a
jump in scores by spending some time with the kids after his first test and
then retesting them. He explained it as due to the children being more used
to his presence during the 2nd test.
