It is quite possible that many know-it-alls are that way because
they have a high Aperger's quotient (see the list discussion a
few months ago). People with high AQ's probably don't relate
that well to others. Interestingly enough I think I read a
recent BBC article that actually mentioned Aperger's as a mild form
of autism. I think it will be quite interesting if there turns
out to be a large genetic component in these diseases.
Autism certainly limits your chances of reproductive success
and Aperger's might also limit them. But perhaps this is offset
to some extent by greater intelligence.
