I suspect this is a genotype (polymorphism) map and not a complete
sequencing effort, but I suspect Venter is setting it up in anticipation
that U.S. Genomics or Solexa will bring the costs down over the next few
years and he wants to grab the initial high rollers and then extend it to
a much larger potential customer base as the costs drop. I think I'll
wait until it becomes a little more affordable though.
