September 10, 2002 | Since the day he was paralyzed in 1995, CHRISTOPHER
REEVE swore that he would walk again. Quadriplegics are often counseled not
to hold on to false hope. After all, conventional medicine says that the
majority of movement is regained in the first 18 months following the
injury. That was unacceptable to Reeve and now his doctors are reportedly
stunned the actor can now move the fingers on his left hand, his toes and
feel pin pricks over most of his body. Doctors now say that with signs of
some recovery, the man who became famous for flying may one day walk again."
