I ventured to the site, and found it to be one of the
most jingoist right-wing/zionist sites I'd ever come
across.
If you go there and like what you see, then slap on a
nazi armband, cause you're home.
I know that it's hopeless, on this list, to attempt
any political discussion that questions crypto-fascist
mythology. With the possible exception of Samantha,
few of the grown-ups on this list (dare I say
"appropriately socialized adults") care to waste their
time offering up thoughtful FACT-BASED political
discourse only to receive in return the twisted,
self-serving apologist self-delusion of
Maslow-challenged cannibal wannabes.
Don't ask me to "back this up with facts", 'cause (1)
you don't deserve it, (2) you're not paying me--and in
any event, couldn't pay me enough--to embark on a
fools-errand to reeducate you, and (3)despite your
ludicrous self-characterization as rationalists and
truth-seekers, you're really about believing what you
want to believe and, in accordance with Max Planck's
dictum, and barring an extensive course of
electro-shock brain cleansing, will cherish and defend
your sacred meme set--crap or truth or some mixture
thereof--right straight through to the grave.
The 'grown-ups' know who I'm talking about.
To whatever extent Sub-Saharan Africa is today a
wasteland, it is a wasteland of pre-colonial,
post-colonial, and post-cold war adventurism. From
the Arab-and-European-run slave trade, from King
Leopold to Mobutu, from Cecil Rhodes to Mugabe, from
Dulles/Gromyko to Reagan/Brezhnev, Africa has been put
through the ringer. External forces--mostly European,
but with a substantial Arab/Islamic contribution--have
savaged Africa relentlessly since the start of the
slave trade/European colonial expansion around 1300.
It's not some specific culture, but rather the uniform
unrestrained expression of human ruthlessness between
large cohesive groups of humans (nation states,
tribes, empires, etc.). And it's not technology, but
rather an enabling imbalance of military capabilities
(in either quantity or quality). The technology of
water-borne transport brought that military imbalance
to the shores of Africa (and soon after, the rest of
the world) around 1300, and it's been a free-to-fuck
zone ever since. Currently, the 'structure' of the
situation is: (usually tribal) warlords--heads of
state and lesser despots--trading
commodities--diamonds, timber, tantalum ore, whatever
sells--to western capitalists--freebooters and
'legitimate'--for hard currency, with which they buy
military gear--again, from Armanied and manicured arms
manufacturers, CAPITALISTS (maybe even 'true'
Libertarians) of irrelevant ideological stripe--with
which to 'stabilize' their fiefdoms.
The current "free market" in Africa doesn't care a fig
for human dignity. And the great powers--but mostly
the West (liberal Democracies, blah, blah, blah)-- are
ONE-FUCKIN'-HUNDRED PERCENT responsible for this state
of affairs.
The Jewish World News, grotestque abomination of the
Joseph Goebbels's school of rhetoric, has merely taken
this backwater issue and spun it into a (minor) piece
of their larger meme-fuck of the world's perception of
reality.
