sadly, human beings have been known to engage in both lying
and insincerity since 126,000 B.C.

P.S. Oh yes, it is ALSO true that often humans "show
that they care" in other ways than by lying and insincere
flattery---I didn't mean to imply that this is the only
way they do it.
