As you can tell, I've taken Eleanor's advice, and I'm trying to put in
some effort to promote my book.
Anyway -- it's my book because I did the actual writing, but I
developed a good deal of material through discussions on this list,
and so some of the book at least might qualify as the collective
wisdom of SKEPTIC.
So, I'm shamelessly going to ask for some help in plugging the book.
It occurs to me that one area that should be covered is the Internet.
There are plenty of discussion groups, web sites etc. concerning
paranormal and religious matters. But then, I don't want to drop into
a group from out of the blue, post an announcement that such-and-such
a book might interest them, and vanish. That's not hugely different
from spamming.
Now, I get the impression that many here are active on related lists
and newsgroups outside of SKEPTIC. I would be grateful if you could,
if you like _The Ghost in the Universe_ and you think it's appropriate
to recommend it in the group you're on, tell other netizens about the
book. Including the book's web site,
would probably be helpful.
Other avenues include writing brief comments on amazon.com and bn.com
web sites, and anything else I can't think of right now but you might.
Thanks -- and I promise that's all I'll post about the book today...

If it weren't for the knee-high sewage lapping at his dress
pants and the confused terrorist spraying automatic gunfire
over his head between loud, emotional outbursts in a language
that sounded like someone choking on gravel, Johnson could see
little reason to change his mind about the wisdom of
registering at a two-star hotel.
