When it comes to marketing, the tech guys seem to be
the least interested or capable. The frustration is
that others define their work fork for them, not to
mention the implications of their advances.

I agree, though their has been some studies of
societies that devolved. I think that a Tasmanian
society is the current enigma among archeologists and
anthropologists. Seems they lost the ability to fish
and make other tools. It's not that this is at all
likely in our society, but no one really understands
the causes.
BTW, I just printed out a bunch of your stuff on Rand,
Romaniticism, and art. Probably not on topic to
discuss here, but I'll look forward to reading it
tonight at home.
