No, you're cutting in half the amount of books people could read. Or,
movies, rather.
Analogy is quite apt: if there are people enjoying watching your state
evolve, you're depriving them from their favourite pastime. On the other
hand, since you'll never see those people (otherwise they would produce
nonidentical input, making you fork), you can safely ignore it. Assuming,
the entity you're talking with is truthful, and also gives you the entire
information you request for your decision.
