Yes, but this seems more insistent. We used to have long threads that
wouldn't die. These threads seem to die and then get reintroduced again
by someone else. Everytime discussion stops, someone seems to start a
new thread designed to start the whole process over again.

It was never an issue before. That is why it is so strangely different
now. As to your other questions, they just seem to be rhetorical.
