Mathematica is overkill for factoring problems with large
numbers. Python is more than adequate and available on all
platforms freely. In the Open Source world there is Macsyma, R,
octave and so on for doing various types of mathematical
programming and systems. Most don't do fancy Mathematica
graphics but for the problem at hand that isn't needed anyway.
