There's already quite a bit of variation in human proportions that
would make significant extensions not that noticible. For example,
I'm already tall (190 cm), but I have short legs--all of my height
is above the waist. I can buy pants off the rack with a 30" inseam,
but I get shirts at the big-and-tall shop with 8 buttons. I could
probably add another whole foot without looking too freakish (though
I probably still couldn't play basketball worth a damn--height won't
make up for being old, slow, uncoordinated, and blind. Might also
make my fondness for petite women even more awkward than it is now.
