I believe that in the next few decades we will reach an understanding of
bio/ecoprocesses goog enough to repair all damages that we have done, and to
produce genetically engineered food much better than today's organic food.
But I do not see anything wrong in acknowledging that, here and now, we have
not achieved this level of understanding yet. We have screwed up existing
natural processes before knowing enough to do it properly. There are very
complex processes out there. So I agree with the statement of Amara below. I
do eat organic food (not religiously) and I am going to continue to do so,
it also tastes better. As soon as I see evidence that genetically engineered
food are better, I will switch.
