I don't know where YOU live, but the streets are most certainly blocked on
Cinco de Mayo, it just isn't being blocked by the police. When the Mexican
population density reaches a certain level, Cinco de Mayo tends to turn the
streets into a parking lot for inebriated Mexicans who are cruising. Since
I live in one of these areas, I basically plan to not leave the house on
that day, as the local traffic is unbelievable, sometimes taking an hour
just to get out of the neighborhood.
