Oh, come on now, Mr Broderick, you're always going to be able to find some ignorant webpages on the internet.

That is a bad bad bad webpage, the rest of it is similarly misinformed regurgitated common american knowledge(tm). But that doesn't mean on an international level, the australian army's action had no effect.

That not all american's have a laser-like focus on past military action's their relevance, and the involved parties, or even a basic knowledge of history, yes, but I think that's a seperate point, and probably applies to most peoples in the world.
