Did anyone see the Frontline tonight on PBS about the Mideast mess? Very
powerful in my estimation, showing the intensity, the violence -on both
sides, up-close and very personal.
It struck me that this is a very different view we get than would have been
possible 30 years ago. Now pervasive telecommunication shows both sides.
In Viet Nam, I don't recall network coverage to the Viet Cong, their street
fighters, their explosive makers etc. No informal philosophical discussions
between the BBC and Hitler during WW II.
Lots of Palestinians talking, showing the conditions they live in, there
were suicide bombers talking who had finished their training, and were ready.
Spray graffiti of Che on blasted city walls. If more Americans were to
see the intensity of hatred and commitment on each side, perhaps we would
feel the gravity of the situation.
Check PBS.org for a rebroadcast time in your area.
