I went to Angkor Wat in Februrary of last year, as an independent traveler.
Before going I was a little nervous about the safety of visiting it
and Cambodia in general. Having been there, though, I can say that the
country is relatively safe, certainly safe enough to visit. Angkor Wat
is an amazing place and I highly recommend it as one of the two most
amazing sights in all of Southeast Asia. The other, of course, is Bagan
in upcountry Myanmar, which I also highly recommend.

Best,

Bill
