Google and the Encyclopedia Britannica say Milankovitch, as do both of
my geology texts.

I note that even if I had been wrong about the correct spelling (he was
Serbian. Do they use Cyrillic? _Is_ there a single transliteration for
the 'ich'?) I would still have been right about it being the best term
for websearching, because that's how I checked the spelling the first
time: respective Google counts.

  Zdravo,
The beautiful Serbo-Croatian girlfriend tells me that the proper
spelling would be (in Latin letters) "Milankovic", but would be
pronounced "ME-Laan-Kov-VICH". Children are taught
in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts.
The usual spelling convention into English from south Slavic
follows
  "Tomic" prounouces "TD-ome-ICH" etc.
Incidentally Serbo-Croatian has some very neat words...
the word for darling (fem.) is "draga".

Dobidjenya,
Brian
