> And so, what gets you out of bed in the morning?
In one of those three-volume Bertrand Russell biographies he said what got
him out of bed in the morning were: "Three passions, simple but
overwhelmingly strong ... the longing for love, the search for knowledge and
unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind."
I wonder what Bertie would have thought of all the progress in technology
since he died (and it wasn't all that long ago - he lived to be 97 or 98, I
think, and died in the early 1970s). I remember reading that he would
GLADLY have lived his life over again if given the chance. I suspect he
would loved to have lived forever.
