I have a very simple definition of intelligence: The need to know or
understand.

Given the self-programming abilities of the brain, and the significant
degree by which IQ can be boosted in individuals through nutrition and
training, 'intelligence' is simply an instinctual drive, a component of
the will, to know or understand. How powerful that willfull need to know
is determines how extensively the brain wires itself to compute
understanding effectively enough.
