Choosing any place to live one's life is always a haphazard
selection process that usually stems from family, friends, economic,
and personal tastes for a particular environment. Hopefully one has
more "pro" reasons to live in a place, more than "con" reasons to
not live in a place.
Now ask yourself how large are your personal values and ethics and
worldview, and if it is large enough to offset family and economic
values.
If I have every personal (close family, friends, life history) and
economic (more jobs in U.S.) reason to return to the U.S., then why
am I not doing that now? I'm not choosing "pro-Europe" per se as I
am "con-U.S." My ethics and worldview are strongly dictating my
unwillingness to return.
