In Anthony Burgesses short story, The Wanting Seed (out of print) Burgess
views a 26th century society where (no biggie) the Police officiers all where
cosmetics, and wars are chiefly, held between armies of naked men versus
naked women. I believe the story was sort of written as a successor to A
Clockwork Orange, and what would that society have evolved into. Burgess's
works need to be considered as a bit of fun and a cautionary tale, rather
then an even semi-serious forecast. So perhaps there is nothing new under the
Great Attractor? ;-)
