I agree with Eliezer that it is probably very difficult to discuss
the term "Sysop Mind" without anthropocentric biases creeping into
the discussion. I think even "apexmind" raises feelings of uneasiness.
A term I can consider comfortably is "intelligent substrate". One
could look at it as something not dissimilar from the current
biosphere on the planet. However some, such as myself, given the
"green goo" that exists, do not view it as entirely benign or
"fully" supportive. I think the only thing that comes remotely close
to it would be some concepts of a universally "good" god. Since there
is no real equivalent in the natural world it has to be an
artificially created meme -- one that our brains are probably
not well equipped to hold onto without having more familiar
metaphors casting shadows onto it.
Since the vectors discussed are orthogonal we need a 3D
graph (or perhaps a space mapping) of the various positions
similar to that which Max provided for IDENTITY.
