On the contrary, there is significant documentation of the
anti-christian pogroms of communists in both the USSR and China (which
continues to persecute christians to this day), as well as persecution
of jews in the USSR. Stalin was a significant anti-semite who killed
many jews in his pogroms of the 30's, and throughout communist control,
churches of all sects were confiscated, burned, or turn to secular use.

Russia today also erects statutory restrictions against the practicing
and prostheletizing of western sects like Mormonism, Adventists, etc. as
a result of lobbying by the Russian Orthodox church.

Atheists are quite capable of pursuing religious wars when they believe
in similarly bankrupt and specious ideologies like socialism, communism,
or in the case of the Clinton Administration, bimbo eruptionism.
