I quite like it when something gets touted as impossible. 25 years of
observations tell me it usually means it'll get done sooner! Miriam's
empathic couplings may happen yet. She can show me the smell of the colour
purple. What the letter Q tastes like. (I'll ask nicely :) )
I suspect that when the BEC chips and entanglement kits get more widespread
and in the hands of youngsters, something will come of it. Bring it on. Even
a destructive system would be useful. By this I mean that entanglement
destroyed by meansurements uses up some of the entanglement soup. Every so
often you have to refill it.
Combinations of multiple entanglement sets (BEC or otherwise), presenting
those little surprises of complexity ...will probably do it. Look what
differential pairs of transitors did for S/N ratio in electronics.
I have a good feeling about this. I can't be any more scientific about
it....except to say that a billion light years distance may not be so far
down deep in those curled up dimensions (10^-45m or so) and it may be a
little more realist than positivist yet.
Nice thread, folks.
