Drones will generally lose their signal lock with their controller over
rough terrain at long range, and if autonomous, have generally poor
terrain following ability. The route in from Uzbekistan has 10,000 ft.
peaks. Conceivably some Taliban on ridgetops could be right in range for
such, but I'll bet they never touched it.
