Subjecting innocent people to ANY dose of ionizing radiation, or ANY
radiation that has not been "proven safe" in a quest for total security is
unconscionable.

<Sarcasm mode on:
There are other ways of checking for contraband. Making the passengers
board the plane in hospital gowns and straitjackets would be one. No
passenger thus treated could possibly hijack a plane, or utilize anything
hidden in a body cavity to do so. Best of all, it's a cheap solution - no
high tech needed.

All the security piled on the airports in the last thirty years have not
deterred the terrorists. There will always be an end run possible with any
security measure. Making life even more stressful for everyday citizens is
not good policy. This is one of the terrorists' big goals - turn America
into a big locked down prison.

The road to the police state is paved with "common sense" intrusions on
citizen's rights, in the search for "safety".

"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither." Seems
like that's just what we got yesterday.
